Welcome to Science, Technology, and Society Course!

This course deals with the interaction between science and technology (S&T) and the social, cultural, political, and economic contexts that shape and are shaped by it. 

This interdisciplinary course allows students to face the reality of what science and technology (S&T) bring to society. This reality pervades the personal, public, and global aspects of our lives and is an integral part of human development. The development of scientific knowledge and technology takes place in a social context in which all socio-political, cultural, economic, and philosophical foundations are at play. This course aims to instill reflective knowledge in students so that they can lead a good life and make ethical decisions in the face of technological advancement. 

This course includes mandatory topics on the environment and climate change, nanotechnology and engineering, health and medicines, digital technology, and biotechnology.
