  • The Contemporary World course is designed to provide students with an understanding of world events. Students are exposed to multitude of global issues to assist in their exploration and comprehension of the contemporary world. The focus on these issues is a multi-dimensional approach that integrates political, economic, historical, geographical and sociological perspectives.

THE CHILD AND ADOLESCENT LEARNERS AND LEARNING PRINCIPLES

This course focuses on child and adolescent development with emphasis on current research and theory on biological, linguistic, cognitive, social, and emotional dimensions of development. Further, this includes factors that affect the progress of development of the learners and shall include appropriate pedagogical principles applicable for each development level.

MOVEMENT ENHANCEMENT

This course focuses on the fundamental components and principles of general fitness, including competency in motor skills, movement patterns, and strategies needed to perform a variety of physical activities. This course is also intended to introduce the students to the method of procedure for teaching general fitness, nutritional health, and general wellness principles. Students will complete as assessment measuring aerobics fitness, core stability, strength, flexibility and nutrition.

FOUNDATIONS OF SPECIAL AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

This course discusses the philosophies, theories and legal bases of inclusive and special needs education, typical and atypical development of children, learning characteristics of students with special educational needs (gifted and talented, learners with difficulty seeing, learners with difficulty hearing, learners with difficulty communicating, learners with difficulty walking/moving, learners with difficulty remembering/focusing, learners with difficulty with self-care) and strategies in teaching and managing these learners in the regular classes.
